Title

• If your trailer was built prior to 1995, we need a copyof the title in your name or signed over to you, registration in your name or signed over to you, or a bill of sale.
• If your trailer was built in 1995 or later, weighs 3001lbs. or more (empty) and
  • The title for the trailer is in your name, we need a copy of the title;
  • The title was signed over to you, we need the original of the title;
  • The trailer is not titled, the original of the certificate of origin.
• Note: In the case of item #2 or #3 in the above list, the trailer will first have to be titled in Maine before we can register the trailer. To title the trailer, we need a notarized Power of Attorney form so we can sign as your agent on the title application. Download the Power of Attorney form here.

Costs

• One-year registration: $40 per trailer
• Two-year registration: $70 per trailer

• If a title application is required: add $48 per trailer.

Note: If a trailer has never been titled or registered, or sales tax has never been paid in connection with such a trailer, Maine sales tax may be levied when registering. Call us at 1-800-244-5718 ext. 264 for more information.
