Trailer Registration Worksheet

(To be used when your trailer has not been previously registered in Maine)

 

If you originally registered your trailer in Maine through us and would like us to renew your registration, please mail us a copy of the original registration along with payment in the amount of, if renewing for one year, $40 (each trailer), or, if renewing for two years, $70 (each trailer), plus applicable shipping charges. We offer our standard delivery via parcel post and also an expedited service via Fed X. Please ask our salesperson for the rates to your location for the desired delivery service. We accept Mastercard, Visa, money orders, cashiers checks. If you want to pay by personal or company check, please make the checks payable to "Maine Trailer, Inc." If you pay by check, we will hold the paperwork for 15 days to allow time for the check to clear.

Ask about our long term rates for 5 to 12 years.
If your trailer is 15 years or older, you must provide a current or previous registration or a copy of the bill of sale. If your trailer is newer than 15 years and the shipping weight is over 3,000 lbs., you must send your original title in your name or signed over to you.

To title trailer in Maine, you must send the original title or certificate of origin (it must be in your name or signed over to you). A copy is not acceptable. There is an additional $36.00 filing fee for title application. You must also enclose Power of Attorney form signed by you stating that we may sign as your agent on the title application form MVT-2.

If the trailer is to be titled and there is a lien on it, you must provide the lienholder information:

Please note that if paying by money order, cashiers check, Visa, or Mastercard, stickers will be mailed at once. However, for company or personal checks the stickers will be held for fifteen days while the check clears the bank.
